Deserting from Merchant Vessel.
From the Barque “Lake Erie,” at Lyttelton. On Bth February, 1902.
Henry Whalley, A. 8., a native of England, about sixty years of age, 5 ft. Sin. high, medium build, dark complexion, clean-shaved except grey moustache, black hair turning grey, rather prominent nose, grey eyes; supposed wearing a darkserge sac suit, black skull-cap, and lace-up boots. He took a white-canvas bag with him containing his belongings, and is said to have gone to Kaipara by the “River Hunter ” or “Edward ” on the 12th instant.
