Deserters from His Majesty’s Service.
From H.Xf.S. “ Torch," at Auckland. On Ist August, 1901.
William G. White, Seaman, eighteen years of age, a rative of England, 5 ft. 3 in. high, light hair, grey eyes, fair complexion, “Love S. W.” on left forearm, scar on palm of left band, coat-of-arms and “ true love ” on right wrist. A reward of £3 will be paid for his apprehension, in addition to £5 from the Colonial Government.
(See Police Gazette, 1901, page 158.) Edward J. Palmer, deserter from H.M.S. “ Pylades,” has been arrested by Constable J. Connell, Lyttelton police.
