(See Police Gazette, 1901, page 149.) Auckland. —Walter Charles Marlborough, charged with deserting his wife, has been arrested by Constable H. G. Hunt, Oamaru police.

Auckland. —John Black, charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his wife, has been arrested by Constable J. F. Sweeney, Dunedin police. He was going under the name of John McPherson.

Napier.— Charles Duncan is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description : A native of America, a butcher, twentyone years of age, 5 ft. 9J in. high, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, regular features, clean shaved, has a large snow-white patch on the back of his head ; dressed in brown-tweed sac suit and black-felt hat. He left; Napier on the lOch April last for Palmerston North. His parents reside at Okaiawa, Taranaki District, and he formerly worked at Tomoana freezing-work®, and with O’Connor, at Waipukurau, as butcher.

Petone. —Michael Ambrose, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his illegitimate child, is said to have been in Napier on the 26th ultimo, and to have written a few days ago from Bourke, New South Wales, to a friend in Napier.

Description : A native of England, hotel cook, thirty-three years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in. higb, fair complexion, fair curly hair, light-blue eyes, clean-shaved except large fair moustache, large nose, sunken cheeks, overhanging eyebrows, large ears, front teeth discoloured ; bracelet, ship, and anchor on left hand ; dressed in dark sac coat and vest and light-coloured trousers.

Christchurch.— Alfred Aynsley is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay 10s. a week towards the support of his wife. Description: A native of England, cab-driver, about forty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, ruddy complexion, sandy beard, whiskers and moustache trimmed short, small eyes, erect gait. Supposed to have left Christchurch for Sydney on the 20th June last. The sum of £7 2s. 6d is due up to the 16th ultimo.

Christchurch. Henry Walkey is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay 15s. a week for the maintenance of his wife. Description: A native of England, a wheelwright, about fifty years of age, 5 ft. 6 in, high, stout build, sallow complexion, dark hair, beard, whi-kers, and moustache turning grey ; has two fingers of right hand off. He left Timaru for Christchurch about the middle of June, and there is now due up to the 30th July last the sum of £9 6s.
