John Falvey is inquired for by the Lawrence police at the instance of his wife, No. 13, Smith Street, Dunedin, with a view of compelling him to contribute towards her support. Description: A native of Ireland, a labourer, about thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 9 in. high, full face, dark eyes, hair, and mousiache, walks a little lame on right leg, quarrelsome when in drink. He was seen about two years ago at the Christchurch races, and was supposed to be working about Balfour, Southland.

George Grey Gleeson is inquired for by the New Plymouth police, with a view of proceeding against him for the maintenance of his wife and children. Description: A native of New Zealand, a carpenter, about thirty-six years of age, about 5 ft. Bin. high, medium build, fair hair, brown moustache only, grey eyes, sallow complexion, large scar on right wrist; looks like a labourer. Was last heard of in July, 1900, at Mrs. Bask’s, Wellington.

Charles Parkinson is inquired for by the Christchurch police, at the instance of Mr. Rhodes. Description: A native of England, a coaohman, about forty-eight years of age, sft. 8 in. high, slight build, stooped shoulders, dark hair, sallow complexion, clean-shaved except small side-whiskers; dressed in dark-tweed suit, soft-felt hat, and grey mackintosh coat. He was employed by Robert Heaton Rhodes, of Elmwood, and was seen crossing one of his paddocks at 12.30 p.m., 4th instant, but no trace of him can now be obtained. A brother of the missing friend disappeared in a similar way from Christchuroh about twelve years ago. He was sent by his friends to a situation at Blenheim, and was never heard of since.

Description : A native of Ireland, about seventy-five years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, 13 st. weight, respectable appearance, white hair, white side whiskers only, dressed in dark-tweed suit, old grey-frieze coat, and hard black-felt hat, has good eyesight, and is very active. He is childish in his manner, and wandered from his son’s place at Kaiparoro on the sth instant, and fears are entertained for his safety.

Edward Beale is inquired for by the Christchurch police that a copy of a minute of order for the support of his illegitimate child may be served on him. Description : A native of New Zealand, a tanner, twenty-four years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. high, medium build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved except slight dark moustache. On the 12th ultimo he was seen at Woolston. Complainant: Agnes Walsh, Christchurch.

George Henry Selman is inquired for by the Oamaru police, at the instance of his wife. Description : A native of England, a farmer, forty-six years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, stout build, dark hair turning grey, full sandy whiskers, small bald patch on left side of head. On the 25th April last he received £BB at Dunedin for oats sold, and may have oleared out to England or Victoria.

Whitaker. —lnformation is requested concerning William Francis Melville Whitaker, who left San Francisco for New Zealand in 1882. Description : A plasterer by trade, fortyeight years of age, dark curly hair, good-looking and intelligent, a teetotaler. He joined the American army when under age, and took the name of Frank P. Melville. Inquiry on behalf of his brother, C. N. Whitaker, Monrovia, California. (01/1103.)

Description: About thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 4 in. high, slight build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, walks erect, rather pleasing face, respectable appearance ; was housemaid at Miss Kebble’s, No. 3, Fitzherbert Terrace, for some years, and left there on the 19th March last, stating that she was going to her mother, at Oamaru, but no trace of her can be obtained.
