Onehunga.— John Bryant is charged on warrant of commitment to Mount Eden Gaol for one month, in default of paying £5 7s. fine and costs for a breach of “ The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, 1893.” Description: Supposed English, a painter, about fifty years of age, about 6ft. high, strong build, flabby, sallow features, shabbily dressed. Is generally about hotels.
Masterton. — Thomas Lee is charged on warrant of commitment to the Terrace Gaol, Wellington, in default of paying £3 Is. for assault. Description : Colonial, a labourer, about twenty-three years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, stout build, dark, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, clean shaved, dressed in blue sac suit, brown Dr. Jim hat. May be found at some of the sheep-stations in the district.

Wellington.— Alfred Raynor, charged with default of fine, has been arrested by Constable R. M. Thom, Wellington police, and lodged in the Terrace Gaol.
Ashburton.— Samuel Elliott is charged on warrant with having, on the 10th May, 1901, threatened to do grievous bodily harm to Jane Smith, boardinghouse-keeper, Ashburton. Description : A native of Ireland, a labourer, forty-five years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. high, swarthy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1893, page 25). Supposed gone to North Island. His arrest is not desired unless he is found in Ashburton.
Dunedin. William R. Cooksley, licensee Salutation Hotel, reports that on the 27th May, 1901, a man, name unknoivn, obtained £5 10s. from him by means of a valueless cheque for the above amount, purporting to bo drawn by Bishop Verdon in favour of Michael Hayes. Offender is about thirty-eight years of age, about 5 ft. 10 in. high, medium build, thin red beard, florid complexion, large nose, prominent nostrils, lips, and teeth. He obtained the blank cheque from A. and J. McFarlane.
Dunedin. — Robert Kirk is charged on two warrants of commitment to Dunedin Gaol, one for one month, in default of paying £5 6s. fine and costs for a breach of the peace ; and the other for seven days, in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for a breach of the City by-laws. Description: A native of New Zealand, a cabdriver and shearer, thirty-four years of age, 5 ft. 11 in. high, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, ginger moustache only, dark eyes. Supposed gone to New South Wales.
Dunedin. — Peter Bateman is oharged on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Gaol for fourteen days, in default of paying £2 fine and costs, for a breach of the peace. Description; Supposed native of New Zealand, a labourer, twenty-six years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in. high, medium build, clean-shaved except fair moustaohe. He was fined on the Ist April last, and allowed until the Bth April to pay the above amount. There is now due £2 3s.
