Escaped Lunatics.
Charles McAdam escaped from the Seacliff Asylum on the 2nd Instant. Description: A native of Scotland, a rabbiter, forty-three years of age, 5 ft. 4 in. high, medium build, ruddy complexion, dark hair, reddish beard, whiskers, .and moustache ; dressed in dark-tweed suit with triangle brand, patch on trousers, tweed hat, blucher boots. Was committed from Invercargill on the 28th September, 1898.
(See Police Gazette, 1901, page 133.) James Rea who escaped from the Seacliff Asylum has been arrested by Constable G. McChesney, South Invercargill police, and returned to the asylum.
