(See Police Gazette , 1900, page 242.) Blenheim. —John Dart Bernard Thorpe, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his wife and family, has been arrested by Constable T. E. De Norville, Palmerston North police, and remanded to Blenheim.

Christchurch. James Dixon, alias Higgins, is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: English, labourer, about twenty-seven >ears of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, fair complexion, blue eyes, clean-shaved except sandy moustache ; usually wears a dark suit; was last seen about twelve months ago, and may he employed about freezingworks. Complainant, Ellen Ross, Samaritan Home, Addington.

Dunedin.— William Williams, also known as J. Williams and J. Wilson, is charged on warrant with failing to contribute towards the support of his wife Ellen Williams. Description : Supposed English, about fifty years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, brown beard whiskers and moustache turning grey, slender build, prominent cheek bones, blue or grey eyes, star tattooed on the back of one hand and a half-ring on one finger; usually wears dark clothes, and is rather fond of drink. Supposed to have gone south, and may attempt to leave the colony by working bis passage on board a vessel, as he has been accustomed to seafaring life.
