New Plymouth.—William Bond is charged on warrant y with deserting his wife, Mary Bond, and family since the 10th • instant.. Description: Colonial, a labourer or groom, about twenty-four years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, slight build, dark complexion, dark hair and eyes, rusty-coloured moustache and side-whiskers, very hairy chest, walks with a shuffle, a/ / if one leg is injured. Offender was employed at the Moturoa ' 1 Freezing-works until the 6th instant, when he left by train for Stratford or Hawera. Complainant and her children are destitute, and in receipt of charitable aid.

New Plymouth.—Alfred Silberback is charged onw r arrant with disobeying an order of the Court to pay ss. a week towards the support of his illegitimate child by Ethel Harvey. Description : Colonial, a carpenter, about nineteen years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, dark hair and complexion, dark moustache only, slight build. May take the name of McLeod, his stepfather, w 7 lio resides in Wellington, and was a clerk in the Lands Office there. He was sei’ved with a summons in Auckland on the 20th March, 1898, and w r as last seen there on the 28th of the same month.

Wellington.—William John Norman is charged on warrant with deserting his wife and two children since the 17th June, 1898. Description : English, a butcher, fifty years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair turning grey, light-blue eyes, right arm crooked, shaved except fair moustache ; dresses w 7 ell; smart appearance. Offender left Wellington about the above date, and is reported to have been seen in Sydney about five weeks ago. He sold his property before leaving, and has about £7OO w ith him. Wellington.—John Joseph Frost is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of Illegitimate child since the 16th instant. Description : (Supposed English, a clerk, about thirty-six years of age, abo/iy 5 ft. 6 in. high, stout build, high shoulders, short neck, pair or ruddy complexion, clean-shaved' except fair moustache; dresses indifferently, and is said to be fond of drink. He was recently a casual clerk in the Land- and Income-tax Department, Wellington, and is supposed to have gone to Blenheim. Complainant, Ellen Peters, 39 Hanson Street.

Christchurch, —Stephen Gardner is charged, on warrant, with being about to leave the colony without making for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. -) Description : A native of Lyttelton, New Zealand, a butcheiV thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, stout build, fair com* : plexion, dark hair, brown eyes, shaved except moustache.
