Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Napier.— Alexander Gillies is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of the Court to pay 7s. 6d. per week towards the support of his son. (For description see Police Gazette, 1894, page 186.) Offender said he was going to Auckland or the Waikato. He was £3O 7s. Gd. in arrears on the 26th March last.

Wellington. —Maurice George Hering, charged with wifedesertion : This warrant has been executed, and the case adjourned to the 2nd August next.
Wanganui. —Edward Griggs is charged on warrant with having deserted his wife, Elizabeth, since the 12th February, 1895. Description : A barman, works on bush-contracts,
twenty-nine years of age, sft. 7in. high, slight build, dark hair and complexion, brown moustache ; wore a blue-serge suit, and hard black-felt hat. Last seen at Featherston.
Christchurch. —Matthew Ferrick is charged on warrant with failing to contribute towards the support of his father. Description : A native of Christchurch, about twenty-four years of age, sft. 6in. or 7in. high, medium build, freckled complexion, fair hair, none on face, scar near left eye. Formerly in Burnham Industrial School. (See Police Gazette , 1892, pages 94 and 101; and 1893, page 79.)

Dunedin. —John Sinclair, charged with child-desertion, has been arrested by Detective Chrystal, Auckland police, and remanded to Dunedin.
