Manaia. —Albert Joseph Bevan, labourer, reports stolen from off his horse, on the 19th ultimo, a new saddle, slightly chewed about foot from centre buckle, mark of rubbing on off pad; and a single-reined bridle : value, £3.

Hunterville. —Robert Kilpatrick Simpson, Vinegar Hill, reports stolen from off his horse, on the 18th instant, a plated headstall bridle, made of green hide, single-reined, Turk’s head and holes instead of buckles; has been repaired with leather on top of headstall ; value, £1 ss.

(Gisborne). — John Andrew Kerrigan reports stolen from his coat on the 1 Lth or 12th instant, between Napier and Gisborne, an old brown-leather pocket-book, containing £l7 10s. in gold, and a shearer’s ticket, Moree Branch, for the year 1895, bearing the owner’s name, “J. Christchurch. —Philip Masservy, Opawa, reports stolen from the ketch “ Annie,” at the Woolston Wharf, on the 9th or 10th instant, a small barometer ; small lever clock, German make; grey blanket; blue-cloth monkey-jacket; and a patchwork rug: value, £3 Is. 6d.

Dunedin. —Edmond Greenslade, farmer, Half-way Bush, reports stolen from Speight and Co.’s brewery, on the 11th instant, a black-tweed overcoat, much worn, “E. Greenslade ”on tab ; a pair of black-woollen knitted gloves; and three white pocket-handkerchiefs: value, 13s.

Dunedin. —Thomas O’Brien is charged on warrant with having, at Port Chalmers, on the 18th or 19th ultimo, stolen from a stable a saddle, value £2 (since recovered), and a threebladed pocket-knife, value 2s. 6d., the property of George Smythe. Offender is a native of Australia, a bootmaker by trade, but has been recently employed as a groom in Fitzgerald’s circus, sixteen years of age, sft. 4in. high, dark complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, medium nose ; wore a striped-check coat, dark-tweed trousers, and soft brownfelt hat.
