William Henry Powell, deserter from “ Katoomba,” at Auckland : The following is a more detailed description of this offender—A Welshman, stoker, twenty-two years of age, sft. 4£in. high, fair hair and complexion, brown eyes, cut on under-lip, clean-shaved, slightly bow-legged, has a peculiarity of laughing when spoken to or during conversation. It is supposed that he has gone to one of the gumfields.
From H.M.S. “ Goldfinch,” at Brisbane. On 27th June, 1893. Walter Edwyn Mynard, ordinary seaman, a native of Devon, nineteen years of age, sft. 3|in. in height, brown hair and eyes, fair complexion. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest.
From H.M.S. “ Lizard,” at Hobart. On Ist July, 1893.
Richard Hurrell, ship’s steward assistant, a native of Devon, twenty-three years of age, sft. sin. high, brown hair, steel-grey eyes, fresh complexion, scar on left groin, tattooed on finger right hand.
On 9th July, 1893
Frank E. Johns, bugler, R.M.L.1., eighteen years of age, born at Landport, Portsmouth, sft. 7£in. high, brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion, mole on left eye and right cheek-hone, scar on left wrist. A reward not exceeding £3 is offered for the arrest of each of these men.
