Waipawa. —On the 31st ultimo the body of a man, name unknown, was found at South Makaretu, and at an inquest held before the District Coroner, on the 3rd instant, a verdict of “ Found dead” was returned. Description: About fiftyfive years of age, about sft. 9in. high, slightbuild, round bulletshaped head, dark-brown hair (very thin) and whiskers turning grey, apparently a labourer; dressed in white-mole-skin trousers, brown-corded-velvet vest, grey-tweed pagetcoat, brown-and-white-striped cotton shirt, and bluclier-boots (nearly new). An old hair brush, wooden pipe, clay ditto, piece of soap, tobacco, reel of black cotton, and tin matchbox were found on the body. It is thought that deceased fell over a precipice close to, and at the foot of which a soft blackfelt hat was picked up. (451.)

Auckland. —On the 10th instant the body of a man, name unknown, was found in a closet in the Auckland Domain, and at an inquest held on the following day a verdict of “ Death from heart-disease ” was returned. Description : Fifty-five to sixty years of age, sft. Sin. or 9in. high, stout build, daik complexion, dark hair beard whiskers and moustache turning grey, grey eyes, no upper teeth ; dressed in an old blackcloth coat, two pairs of tweed trousers (one dark, the other light check), two tweed vests, dark and light grey respectively, brown-felt hat, blucher-boots, and grey-worsted socks. Deceased was known by sight to the Domain employes for the last two years. (457.)
