(See notiayimderncath.) s' (See Police Gazette, > >891, page 103.) , JameS/SMAfcn’s horse, saddtof'and bridle were sold on the 11th May , to Thomas Fleming, at Poukawa, by Kemera Rangitiwhiria, who is charged with larceny as a bailee of -Tangata te Hapuku’s-mare, referred to in preceding notice. Offender was seen at Moawhanga on or about the Ist ultimo riding a bay -horse, and is supposed to have gone towards Tokano^^ Te Whero, otherwise Hohepa, is charged, on warrant issued by the Auckland Bench, and indorsed by Thomas Jackson, Esq., R.M., with having, on the 19th February last, near Woodlands, Waikato, stolen a bay gelding (recovered); value £10; the property of Frederick W. Littlewood, Taupiri. Description: A Maori, about twenty-five years of age, about sft. 6in. high, stout build, black hair, black moustache only; generally well dressed in grey-tweed suit; speaks fairly good English. Is well known at Kawhia, Huntly, and Mercer, and frequents Bald Hill Native Settlement, on the Waikato River, opposite the latter township. Offender sold the horse on the 23rd February to William Biddle, at Mercer, for £4. (See Police Gazette, 1891, page 95.) John Fraser’s gelding, supposed stolen at Hastings, has been found straying.
Stolen between the 10th and 12th ultimo, from a paddock at Oxford, Canterbury, eighty-three merino ewes, branded FL, in black, on rump, a piece cut out of the top of each ear; also eleven ditto, same brand on rump, and RW on near side ; the property of Frederick Luors. Identifiable.
