Stolen between 4 p.m. on the 11th and 6.30 p.m. on the 13th ultimo, from a railway-wagon, at Auckland, or between there and Lichfield, a box about 18in. long by about Bin, by Bin., addressed AH over L, containing 221 b. of tobacco, signet brand; the property of the Government; value £5. Stolen on the 23rd ultimo, from a cab in front of the Clarendon Hotel, Auckland, a navy-blue-silk parasol with a bunch of blue-and-white ribbons at top, thorny handle ; the property of Mary Bowen; value £1 17s. Gd. Also a blacksilk parasol with two rows of black lace, the handle is turned into a ring at the end ; the property of Rhoda Vernor; value £2 7s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 10th or 11th ultimo, from a shed at Cherry Farm, Waikouaiti, two winkers and bridles with bits attached, nose-pieces off them, two collars, a set of traces and hames, one of the cheek-pieces is broken off the liames, and is fastened at the bottom with wire, and two sets of saddles and breeching, all pretty old, and portion of a very light set of double harness, value £2; and a dog-chain with a Waikouaiti County register-collar attached, value Is.; the property of John Duncan. Stolen on the 24th or 25th ultimo, from the clothes-line of Jane McGregor, Riverton, a light red-and-blue-check cotton shirt, a dark-brown cotton shirt with a square patch of dark winsey on inside of back between the shoulders, a white-cotton singlet with short sleeves, a white turkish towl, a white common towl with red and yellow stripes across ends, a plain white apron, and a pair of ladies’ white drawers; value £l, Identifiable.

Stolen on the 6th or 7th ultimo, from a paddock at Kent Road, Taranaki, three plough-chains, three of the large links broken off one of them, a whipple-tree, and three four-pronged forks ; the property of William Gaylard ; value £l2s. Identifiable. The forks and whipple-tree have been recovered. At the same time a quantity of potatoes, also the property of Mr. Gaylard, were maliciously damaged to the extent of 12s.

Stolen on the 20th ultimo, at Manakau, near Otaki, an old double-barrel muzzle-loading gun, 71b. weight, “W. Clark ” engraved near right hammer, left nipple new, value £2 55.; a leather shot-pouch, value 2s. ; and a powdercanister, value 25.; the property of Rowland Houghton and another. Gun and shot-pouch identifiable.

Stolen between the 3rd and 11th ultimo, from off a fence at the fellmongery of Joseph Edwards, Mataura, a longwoolled merino sheepskin, a cross-bred sheepskin, and a green Leicester sheepskin, all branded D ; value 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 14th ultimo, at Timaru, a greyhound dog, about fourteen months old, white with black blotches and small black specks, black head with white streak between the eyes, yellow eyes, mane on neck, had on a plain-leather collar, answers to the name of “ Rome,” very high ; the property of Franklin Webb ; value £ls. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 15th or 16th ultimo, from the yard of James Dunlop Adam, corner of Wai-iti Road and Le Cren Street, Timaru, a black drake with a white ring round neck, four black ducks, a white ring round the necks of two of them, and six grey ducks, one with a very peculiar turn-up tail; value £1 2s. Identifiable.

Stolen about the 14th April last, at Bell Block, Taranaki, nine bags of potatoes, some of the bags are marked “ Ward’s Bonedust; ” the property of Henry John Honeyfield ; value £3. Marked bags identifiable.

Stolen on the 16th ultimo, from a shod in the Electric Light Company’s yard, Feathers ton Street, Wellington, a nearly-new black mackintosh, “ Cooper and Cooper ” printed on inside of collar, fastens at neck with a hook ; the property of Alfred J. Barron ; value £2 17s. Identifiable.

Stolen on tire 7th ultimo, from the clothes-line of Frederick Palmer, Princes Street, Christchurch, a large twill sheet, a small twill sheet, a nearly-new calico night-dress, with join-yoke and embroidered front, muslin lace round sleeves ; value 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 23rd April last, from the livery-stables of Isaac Johnson, Waitara, a pair of nearly-new light-harness blinkers, square flat silver buckles, flat broad-linked silver chain on forehead-band, round silver headpieces at each side, a silver double ring-bit with “ Jones, Saddler, Auckland,” stamped on bars ; value £2 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 18th or 19th ultimo, from off horses at Waitaki North, Canterbury, two nearly-new canvas horsecovers, open at front, branded B on near side ; the property of Patrick J. Murphy ; value 17s. each. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 26th ultimo, at Waimate, Canterbury, an opossum-skin buggy-rug, about 6ft. by sft., unlined ; the property of Helen Potter ; value £5. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 21st ultimo, from the saddle-room in the yard of the Upokongaro Hotel, Upokongaro, Wanganui, a bullock-hide saddle lined with a piece of blue blanket, cantle broken, no stirrup-leathers or -irons, web girth ; the property of Thomas Rowe ; value £l. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a Maori, name unknown, about seventeen years of age, who called at the hotel on that day, inquiring if a saddle had been left there for him. He was riding a horse with a couple of old sacks for a saddle, with stirrup-leathers and -irons attached. He went towards Parapara.

Stolen on the 21st ultimo, from off a fence at Scarborough Terrace, Parnell, a light-grey-tweed coat, about half worn, a blue-cloth pocket sewn inside left breast, and a dark-spotted-tweed vest; the property of Charles Whittle ; value 10s. Identifiable.

Webster, Patea, have been recovered by Acting Sergeant William Manning, Palmerston North Police, and traced to the possession of William Baird, alias William Baird Drummond, alias William Plenry Drummond, arrested at Palmerston North, on the 16th ultimo, on another charge of larceny, and sentenced to one month’s labour.

Stolen on the 21st ultimo, from St. John’s School-room, Christchurch, a new brownisli-check-tweed overcoat with cape, two hip-pockets, an outside left-breast pocket, and a small match-pocket on left side, all with flaps, about of the sleeves turned in and tacked ; the property of James C.
