Services dispensed with. The services of Inspector Thomas Scully have been dispensed with from the 31st ultimo, on superannuation.
Promotions
Second-class Sergeant Soren Christopher William Moller, No. 51, to be first-class sergeant.
Third-class Sergeants William Gilbert, No. 372, Ewen Macdonell, No. 559, John Wybrants Ellison, No. 299, and John McMahon, No. 716, to be second-class sergeants. Acting Third-class Sergeants Thomas Livingstone, No. 770 a, Edmond Villars, No. 75, and Alexander Boss, No. 1985, to be third-class sergeants. First-class Constable William Henry Byan, No. 280, to be acting-third-class sergeant.
Rewards. The sum of £3 has been awarded to Constable Timothy McCarthy, Nenthorne Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the prosecution of John N. Hunter, fined £25 on two charges of sly grog-selling. The sum of £8 10s. each has been awarded to Sergeant Pratt and Constable White, the sum of £6 each to Sergeant Lyons and Constable McClellan, the sum of £3 each to Sergeants Gamble, Clarke, and Kiely, and Constables Hansen, Bowles, Carroll, and Finnerty, the sum of £1 10s. each to Sergeant McMahon and Constable Kilkenny, and the sum of £1 to Constable Walker, Auckland Police, for the arrest of eighteen deserters from the American warship “ Mohican.”
