Inquest.

An inquest was held on the 27th ultimo, at Foxton, on the body of a man, name unknown, which was found on the previous day on the banks of the Manawatu River, near Foxton, when a verdict of “Found dead” was returned. Description of deceased: Supposed a European, about sft. 9in., slight, build ; a pair of nearly-new watertight boots and a pair of odd worsted socks were found on deceased’s feet. The hair of the head, the entrails, and the flesh from

the face and front part of the body were missing. The body was so much decomposed that the cause of death could not be ascertained. The socks and boots found on deceased are in possession of the Foxton Police.
