Supposed stolen between the 6th and 9(h ultimo, from a paddock at Swift Creek, nearTapanui, a chestnut colt, mediumdraught breed, three yeai’s old, white face, branded like 0 on near shoulder, unbroken ; the property of John Herbert; value £2O. Identifiable.
(See Police Gazette, 1883, page 111.) The black mare, the property of Peter Christiansen, supposed stolen from a paddock at Mauriceville, has been found dead.
