Charles William Smith, fraudulent insolvent : Messrs. Dauby and Gilmour, trade assignees, Melbourne, guarantee a reward of £SO for such information as will lead to the apprehension of this offender.—O. 3039.—8th June, 1883. Charles Widmer is charged, on warrant issued in Switzerland, with stealing £6,000 from the Swiss Accident Assurance Society, about April last. Description : Native of Altnau, Canton of Tbourgavie, Switzerland, forty years of age, a little below the middle size, brown hair and beard, greyish-blue eyes, large forehead, sharp features, short-sighted and wears spectacles ; speaks German, French, and English. He was a director of the Swiss Society for Assurance against Accidenta at
Winterthour. Ife absconded about the 16th April last, taking with him about £2,880. Warrant issued in Switzerland. A reward of 5 per cent, on the amount recovered, or at least, £BO, will be paid to any person giving information leading to the arrest of this offender. If found .in Victoria he should be kept under surveillance, and information sent to the Detective Office, Melbourne, where warrant will be obtained under the Fugitive Offenders Statute.
