Constable Peter Sharkey, No. 2537. Rewards. The sum of 10s. has been awarded to Sergeant William Henry Scott, Oxford Police, for the arrest of a deserter from the ship “ Waipa.”

The sum of £3 each has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constables Henry George Ell and Arthur Moynihnn, Parihaka Field Force, in recognition of their commendable promptitude in rescuing two children named Saunders from a burning wliare at Parihaka, at considerable risk to themselves.

The sum of £6 10s. has been awarded to Constable Alexander McGilp, Russell Police, for the arrest of a deserter from

the whaleship “ Adeline Gibbs,” and for the arrest of a man charged with attempting to desert from the whaleship “Especulador.”

The sum of £1 10?. has been awarded to Constable Michael Naught-on, ITelensville Poli e, by Mr. Joseph Fourdice, in recognition of his services in recovering a gold watch and chain stolen from him.

The sum of £2 10s. has been awarded to Constable William J. Phair, Port Nelson Police, for the arrest of an apprenticeseaman, who deserted from the barque “ Conference.”

The sum of 10s. has been awarded to Constable James Christie, Wellington Police, for the arrest of two seamen for neglecting to join the barque “ Alexa.”
