Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Robert Keating, a native of New South Wales, a labourer, but formerly kept an hotel at Bealey, forty years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, medium build, fair hair turning grey, bald on top of head, sandy beard, whiskers, and moustache, right eyebrow white, one upper front tooth out; active appearance, lie left Lyttelton by the steamer “ Hawea ” on the Bth August last for Auckland, with the intention of purchasing a farm in the North Island. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his wife, who resides at Springfield, Canterbury.

John Edmond Wood is missing from his home at Lyttelton since the 25th ultimo. Description : Thirteen years of age, about 4 feet 11 inches high, slight build, pale complexion, blue eyes, fair hair; dressed in double-breasted dark-tweed coat, light-check-tweed trousers, white billycock hat, and elastic-side boots. He was seen at Heathcote Valley about three weeks ago, and then said that he was going to Christchurch.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Damay Wulferme, a Frenchman, who it is stated was sentenced to ten years’ penal servitude for the manslaughter of his father. It is said he killed his father for beating his wife, Wulferme’s mother. As he has not been confined in any of the gaols in this colony, he may have been convicted in one of the other colonies.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Frederick Samuel Saltmarsh, a native of Yorkshire, forty-six years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high. He came to Auckland from Melbourne by the ship “ Caduceus ” in 1863, with recruits for the First Waikato Regiment of Militia, in which he served as corporal. He was a gold watch-case-maker in London, an engine-driver in Melbourne, aud in 1867 was employed as a gold-miner at the Thames. Inquiry is made for him at the request of Frederick George Bell, Hotham, Melbourne.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of John English, a native of Limerick, Ireland, who came to this colony about seventeen years ago; is married, aud has two daughters. It is said that he kept the Colan Hotel (place not stated) about seven years ago. Inquiry is made for him at the request of William English, Miclere Plantation, Port Mackay.
