The sum of £lO has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable Charles William Brookes, Christchurch Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the pursuit and arrest, in England, of William Wombwell Charters, charged with embezzlement and forgery, and escorting him back to this colony.

The sum of £2 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable William Brennan, Cambridge Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the prosecution of Abraham Isaacs, the holder of a wholesale spirit license, fined £5 and costs for selling spirits in less quantity than two gallons.

The sum of £3 has been awarded to Detective L. D. Benjamin, Wellington Police, for the arrest of William Apthorpe, who deserted from Her Majesty’s ship “Emerald,” at Wellington.

The sum of £3 has been awarded to Constable Patrick Walsh, Wellington Police, for the arrest of George Edwards, who deserted from Her Majesty’s ship “ Emerald,” at Wellington.

The sum of £2 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable John Mclvor, Normanby Police, in recognition of the energy and perseverance shown by him in the pursuit and arrest, &c., of William Johnson, alias Frank Smith, sentenced to two months’ labour for false pretences, and to live months’ labour for stealing from a dwelling.

About midnight on the 13th instant two panes of glass, value £1 10s., were maliciously broken in the windows of the house of G. W. Allen, Victoria Street, Christchurch.
