Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Patrick Kennedy is charged, on warrant issued by tho Dunedin Bench, with having, on the 15th ultimo, at Dunedin, disobeyed an order for the maintenance of his three children, who are inmates of the Otago Industrial School. Description : Irish, a labourer, about forty-three years of age, 5 feet 71 inches high, smart active .build, florid complexion, brown hair and whiskers, chin shaved, sore lips as if from cold. He has been in the army. He is supposed to be working on the railway line near Clinton.

John Donovan, charged on warrant with having disobeyed r summons to answer a charge of drunkenness, has been arrested by Constable Andrew McKnight, Auckland Police.
Ralph Bartle is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with having disobeyed a summons to appear as a witness at the Resident Magistrates’ Court, Christchurch, on the 20th ultimo. Description : English, a practical engineer, thirty-five years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair and eyes; very dark beard, whiskers, and moustache; wore dark-tweed suit. He was informant in a sly grog case, and summoned as a witness, but failed to appear, lie is also charged with embezzlement.
Samuel Bradley is charged, on warrant issued by the Hamilton Bench, with having committed a breach of the Auckland Rural Police Act, at Hamilton, on the 22nd of April last, Description: English, a carpenter, twenty-eight years of age. 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, thin light-coloured moustache, no whiskers ; wore dark galatea coat, light-tweed trousers, and black alpine hat. ne was summoned for having left dead animal remains in a public place, whereby a nuisance was caused, but failed to appear. lie is supposed to have gone to Auckland.
Duncan McCallum is charged, on warrant issued by tho Christchurch Bench, with having, since the 16th of April last, failed to provide adequate means of support for his wife and family, at Christchurch. Description: Scotch, a sailor and labourer, forty years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, sallow' complexion, black hair; large dark-brown whiskers, beard, and moustache; brown eyes ; wore black sac coat, darkbrown cloth trousers, and blucher boots. lie is supposed to have gone to Temuka.
