HOTEL BURNED DOWN.
Goodwin’s Travellers’ Rest Hotel at Riwaka was totally destroyed by fire last Thursday. Some clothes m front of an open wood fire in the diningroom caught, and when the dooi of the room was opened it was a mass of flames. Owing to the strong gale blowing the house, consisting of 13 rooms, was destroyed in less than an hour. Only the outbuildings and stables were saved. .The only salvage from the main building was the stock in the bar. The loss includes a new piano and about £2O cash. The insurances are not yet known.
