WANGANUI
I BY
WIRE.]
October 10. Acceptances for the Wanganui Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting are due on the 16th instant. Dingo, winner of the Flying Handicap at Hawke’s Bay, and bred by Mr Scott, has been sold to Mr H. Knight on behalf of a Napier sport for £75. Murawai, the ex-hack, visits Dreadnought. Musket is doing good work, and is further advanced than any of the other local New Zealand Cup candidates. He should have a good say in our Spring Handicap if not too harshly treated, but I consider he is held safe in the N.Z. Cup by Boulanger. Acceptances for the Wanganui Derby are due on Monday, the 16th inst. Fraternite is still being treated to swimming exercise, and it is nearly a certainty this N.Z. Cup candidate will not start for that event.
King John has put in an appearance here, and will take part in the Wanganui meeting. Boulanger is going well, and is reckoned an almost sure starter for the Southern event. He is greatly fancied locally, and 1 think he will make a bold bid for victory. There is no doubt Boulanger will beat everything from here.
