Fine weather attended the commencement to-day of the Napier Park Races (which had been postponed since New Year’s Day) and there was a good attendance of the public. Results were:—- « Trial Hurdles of 50 sovs, one mile'and a half.—Hon. J. D. Ormond’s Worth, 10.11, Gillett, 1 ; Gondolier, 11,0, Gilpin, 2 ; Sir Tatton, 10.9, Hickey, 3. Won by a length and a half. Time, 3min 2 3-5 sec. Dividend, us. Midsummer Handicap of 60 sovs, one mile.—Mr Ellingham’s Rangiatea, 7.8, 1 Banks, 1 ; St. Malo, 7.9, Price, 2 ; Free Lance, 7.10, Ashdown, 3. Time, inpn 46 1-5 sec. Dividend, 17s. New Year Handicap of 150 sovs. one mile and a-half.—Hon. J. D. Ormond’s Queen of Trumps by Leolinus —Maid of Athol, 7.1, Ashdown, 1 ; St. Malo 7.6, Price, 2 ; Kotuku 7.0, 3. Win from start to finish. Time, 2min 41 2-5863. Dividend, £2 9s. . Hurdle Handicap of 90 sovs, 2 miles. —Gondolier 10.0, Gilpin, 1: Beggarman 11.0,2; Disturbance 10.5, 3. Won all the way. Time, 4mm ssec. Kaimanawa fell. A protest entered by Alexander, the rider of Beggarman, on the ground of suspicious riding in the Trial Hurdles, was not upheld. - i i Flying Handicap of Bosovs< six furlongs.—Krina 7.10, Crook, 1 : Stockfish 6.7, D.
