Hawera, March 7. A Farewell Tea. On Thursday afternoon Mrs. MeLean gave a farewell tea for Miss Gertie Good, who leaves for England next week. The diningroom, where tea was served, looked charming. The blinds were drawn, and the room was lit with pink shaded Chinese lamps, the table decorations being pink asters, the shades harmonising beautifully. Mrs. McLean was wearing a green silk frock, embroidered in the same colour and relieved with cream net; Miss MeLean, grey charmeuse, with touches of pale blue; Miss Good, grey crepe de chine, black and white hat; Mrs. R. McLean, grey and white striped costume, black velvet hat with white ostrich plumes; Mrs. and Miss Buchanan, Mrs. Webster, Mrs. Dingle, Mrs. Barton, Mrs. and Miss Moore, Mrs. Kimbell, Mrs. and Miss Nolan, Mrs. Foyster, Misses Good (2), Miss Caplen, Miss Morse, and others. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. W. Good (Stratford) are staying with Mrs. Good, Ramanui. Mr., Mrs., and Miss Tonks are visiting Wellington. Miss K. Williams left Hawera yesterday for Wellington, en route to Melbourne, where she is to be married in April. Mr., Mrs., and Miss White leave next week,on a prolonged visit to England. Mrs. MacDiahnid has returned from Wellington.
