March 8. Bridge. Last Monday Mrs C. 11. Burgess had a small bridge praty of two tables for Mrs Fitzherbert, at her house in Fillis Street. A most recherche supper was handed round in the drawing-room, the table being beautifully’ decorated with pink tiger lilies and roses. The prize for the player whose score was nearest to a hidden number was won by Mrs Fraser, Mrs Courteney being second. Mrs Burgess wore a handsome black silk frock trimmed with blue silk veiled in cream. Mrs Fitzherbert. handsome black silk; Mrs Courteney, black silk, with blue metal net. and lace over; Mrs C. H. Weston, black nine over gold; Miss Brown, black, with iridescent trimming on bodiee; Mrs Fraser, dark blue satin charmeuse veiled in ninon of same shade, and trimmed with Oriental trimming; Miss Bayly, black and white ninon over white silk"; Mrs Heard, white silk, with beaded trimming, blue turquoise ornaments.

Mrs 11. H. Ward had a most enjoyable bridge party at her house in Gover Street last Monday. Mrs Matthews won the first prize, and Mrs Russell the second. Mrs Ward received her guests in electric blue satin charmeuse, trimmed with Oriental trimming; Mrs Russell, Mrs Matthews, Mrs Moyes, Mrs Ryder,

On Tuesday Mrs Walter Bayly gave a bridge party, at which Mrs Mills carried off the prize. Those who were there were: Mrs Heard, Mrs J. Wilson, Mbs J. E. Wilson, Mrs Medley, Mrs Mills, Mrs Blundell, Mrs H. Baity, Miss Rem nell, Miss Hamerton, and Miss Hempton. Personal. Mrs (Dr.) Maguire, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs Murdoch Fraser, of New Plymouth. Mr C. Govett, who has been on a visit to Auckland, has now returned. Mr Gideon Pott lias returned after spending a few weeks in Auckland.
