TAURANGA.
January 17. One of the largest and most successful garden parties given in Tauranga was that which took place in the Domain, in honour of the Hons. Herries and Fraser, last Wednesday. There were several hundreds present, and the ladies’ committee had a hard time for two hours, serving tea and dainty cakes. The band rendered excellent music, which added to the enjoyment of those present. Now that the holidays are over, the tennis and croquet clubs are going in for hard practice, preparing for the various tournaments, which start next week. Mr. Skinner (Auckland) is visiting friends in Tauranga.
