January 17. Afternoon Tea. Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Clere were the hostesses at afternoon tea at the Linton Street tennis court on last Saturday. Mrs. Porter was wearing a 'black coat and skirt, and a black -hat with feathers; Mrs. Clere. white linen frock, hat wreathed with small mauve flowers; Miss Evelyn Porter, lilac linen frock, floral hat; Miss Clere (Wellington) white muslin and lace insertion, hat with pale pink roses; Mr. and Mrs. Rimmer, the Misses Barnicoat (2), Mason (4), Armstrong, Smith. Moat, Messrs. Morrah, Cannell, Addison, Spencer, Moodie, Pavitt, Baddeley, Mrs. Addison, Miss Warburton, and many others. Personal. Miss Clere (Wellington), has been the guest of Mrs. Clere during the last week. She has now gone on to New Plymouth. ■ Mrs. Tripe and her son and daughter are staying at Paekapariki. Miss Alison ■•Barnicoat has gone to stay with them for a week. Mrs. and Miss Coombs leave on ->e 14 th of February on a long trip. They propose Visiting Australia, Japan, England, : the Continent, and home across ■America Miss Wilson and Miss Beswick have returned from a trip to England. Mrs. McKnight has returned from .Hunterville. i Miss Armstrong is away in Wanganui. ,■ . Mrs. Jones (Wanganui) is the guest of Mrs. R; M.'MeKnight. Mrs. A. McDonald and children are at >Paekakariki. , . Mrs. Bagnall and children are at Plimmerton. Mrs. Porter and Miss Evelyn Porter have returned from a visit to Wellington. The Misses Gertrude and Lucy Mason have gone to Wellington for a week. The Misses H. and D. Park, are at Lyall Bay. Mrs. Park, Miss Park, and the youflger children are at Plimmerton.
