August 10. On tire Links. Last Saturday afternoon quite a number of players journeyed out to ths Wither Golf Links, when the Ladies’ One-club Competition was played lor, ami was won by Miss McKay. Among those present were: Mrs White, Mrs Redwood, Mrs P. Huhne, Mrs Maclaine, Misses MeLauoblan, Fulton, H. McCallum, McKay, Clouston, Ewart, Chapman (2), Whelan, Reul, and Jenkins; Messrs Reid, B. Vlouston, Wieks, Mortimore, Parker,’Horton i2), Golding and Lucas.

Personal. Miss McLauelilan, "Springlands,” is spending a short holiday in Wellington. Miss A. Clouston has returned from spending a week with Mrs Masefield, "Manaroa,” Pelorus Sounds. Miss Ethel' Dampier Atkinson, “'Corea, ’ was in town on Monday. Airs Satchel 1 has returned from an enjoyable holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs and. Miss Perrott (Renwick) are spending a few days in Picton, at “Wai■t.qlii House,” before leaving for the North IslandHon. C. H. Mills has returned to Wellington after spending a few days with Mr and Mis Claude, Mills, Hawkeshaw Street.

Mrs Hylton has returned from the Empire City. Mrs Frank Bui! has returned from a pleasant holiday spent in' Wanganui. Miss V. Farmer has been the guest of Mrs Neville, ‘'Thurston,” for a few days.

Mr and Mrs L. Griffiths have returned from Wellington. Miss V. Brittain lias returned from Wellington. Miss Chaytor is at present in Nelson. Miss Dora Redwood (’Wellington) is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs Redwood, Hawkeshaw Street. Miss Zoe C’louston is spending a few days in Wellington.
