August 10. Cinderella Dance. Miss Emma Robertson should 'feel pleased at the undoubted success of her Cinderella dances this winter, the last of the series being held on Friday night. In the first part of the programme all the guests wore masks and dominos, and a great deal of fun was caused. The floor wan as usual perfect, and the supper tables decorated with the most beautiful spring Howers. Amongst those present were: —Mesdames Robertson, Hartgill, F. Cowper, A. E. Bridge Party. On Munday night, Mrs Dawson entertained a number of friends at bridge in honour of Mrs A. E. Cowper, of Wanganui, who is spending a few day® with her. Airs Dawson wore a pretty blaek gown, and Mrs Cowper an electric-blue satin charmeuse, with short tunic of fciaek ami white spotted ninon. Mrs A. Green, Mrs Hartgill and Mrs Mae Gibbon were the fortunate prize-winners. Bridge Club. On Tuesday the fourth bridge club evening was held, and as there is only one ■more night of the season, great interest is being taken in the scores. Card Party. A very merry parly drove and motored out to Tahorate on Wednesday evening at the invitation of Mrs W. E. Knight. Bridge and euehre were, played until about half-past ten, when a delicious supper was served in the dining-room, which was prettily decorated with bowls of red japonica. Mrs Prichard, Mrs F. Cowper, Mr R. Robertshaw', and Mr Giesen proved the fortunate bridge winners, and Miss E. Rdbertson, Miss Knight, and Mr Varnlia.m and Mr Geo. Knight carried off the honours at euchre.
