FEILDING.
Aiilgust Mk Plain and Fancy Dress Ball. One of the most successful balls of the season was given by a committee of ladies representing the country districts. The ball was plain and fancy dress. The Drill Half was used for the occasion, and no time or expense had been spared in making it suitable for dancing. The. hall was beautifully decorated with fans, Chinese lanterns, and greenery. A delicious supper was laid on the stage; the tables being tastefully decorated with cherry blossom. Mrs Banks wore a pretty Old English frock; Mrs Conway, Powder and Patches; Mrs la-vett, Gainsborough eostume; Miss Herdman, Powder and Patches; Mrs French, black satin with overdress of lovely laee; Mrs Hockings, pretty little black and white froek; Mrs Myers, blaek satin, over,? dross black ninon; Mrs Meyrick, apri s eot satin, beautiful laee on bodice; M'rs Pickering, primrose satin froek; Mrs G; Taylor, white satin, overdress while ninon; Miss Shannon, pale bine satin’; overdress black laee: Miss TaylorJ pretty white satin froek; Miss Franees’, pale blue silk; Mrs Wall.
