August 3. Lecture. Last Friday Dr Truby King gave a hfeture in the Athenaeum Hall. to women only. The hall was crowded and numbers of people could not find seating room. The lecture was excellent. dealing mostly, of course, with " baby lore.’’ Golf. last Saturday the Ladies’ Club played a handicap Bogey over the short course. Among the players I saw Mrs Arthur Kennedy, Mrs G. Kelly. Mrs 8. C. Moore. Mrs Edgar. Mrs Davis, Mrs Manning, Mrs Bernau, Mrs Gould, Miss Bernau, Miss Kettle, Miss Dean, Misses C. and M. Hindmarsh. Miss D. Clark. Miss I. Balfour. Miss J. Clark, and Miss Miller. Tuesday, as usual, was a practice day. and on Thursday the semifinals of the club championships were played. Personal. The marriage between Miss Daisy Clark and Mr J. Boothroyd will take place On the 14th inst., at the Presbyterian Church, Napier. Mr and Mrs Levien. Palmerston North, are in Napier for a holiday.
