August 2. Tennis Ball. The Hastings Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club ball, which was held in the Drill Hall, was a huge success. The had was decorated with greenery, the floor was in good order, and with the delightful music provided by Tomb’s band the dancers thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The supper room was prettily decorated with boughs of wattle; the small tables looked dainty with bunches of violets. The supper itself was delicious, and was provided by the club ladies.
