June 29. Military Ball. A proposal is on foot to hold a grand military ball in New Plymouth at an early date. It is expected to have 700 couples present, so that the new Coronation Hall will be required. Personal. Miss Campbell, assistant matron of the New 7 Plymouth Hospital, who has been spending her holidays in Rotorua, has returned to take up her duties. Mr W. D. Webster ami Miss W. Webster, who have been on a visit to Australia, arrived in Auckland last week. They went on to Napier, where they will be the guests of Mrs J. Morton. Mr H. Fraser has returned to Auckland after his short visit to New Plymouth. Miss C. Leathern, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs Prichard, Dannevirke, has returned. Mrs L. Hanson, who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs Robinson, New Plymouth, has returned to Auckland. Mr J. Glenn, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, Auckland, has been spending his holidays at his home in Hawera, but lias now returned, accompanied by’ his sister, Miss Q. Glenn. Mr P. Hanna, Auckland, has been spending his holidays with his people iu New Plymouth.
