March 25. Miss Amy Castles’ Concert. Although the hall was not over-crowd-ed for Miss Amy Castle’s concert, still the audience was a very appreciative one. Miss Castles looked charming in a white satin charmeuse with berthe and front panel of silver bugled lace. She also wore a diamond butterfly on corsage, a gift from Mr. J. C. Williamson, after her performance of “Madame Butterfly.” Amongst the audience I noticed: Mrs. Paul, black silk, pale, blue opera coat; Mrs. Leslie Webster, eau de nil crepe de chine, cream lace berthe; Mrs. M. Teed. ■ Bridge Party. Last Saturday evening, Miss Keitha Saxton gave a most enjoyable bridge party as a farewell to Miss Ethel Leatham, whose marriage is to take place on April 26th. The card prizes were ■won by Miss J. Fitzherbert and Mr. Morton, and those for the competition by Miss G. Kyndon and Mr. Eric Cutfield. An Enjoyable Party. Last Tuesday evening Mrs. Heard gave a most enjoyable bridge party, ami the prizes were won by Miss Hamerton (first) and Mrs. Percy Webster (second). Mrs. Heard received her guests in a pretty white embroidered muslin; Mrs. H. Bailey, black silk; Miss Hamerton, brown Chiffon taffetas; Mrs. Addenbrboke, electric blue gown; Miss Tidy, 'black and white striped voile; Mrs. Paul, pale pink silk 'blouse, real lace scarf, black satin skirt; Miss A. H'empton, black lace robe; Mrs. W. Newman, pale saxe 'blue taffetas; Mrs Holbrook, black; Mrs. Percy Webster,'pale pink silk, real lace scarf; Mrs.' Fitzlierbert; black chiffon taffetas; Miss B. Bayly; Mrs. Johns, pale' helitrope taffeta trimmed with a darker shade; Miss Wood, pale heliotrope flowered muslin; Mrs C. T. Mills, grey and black striped crystalline; Mies Testar, bl'aek satin.

Tennis Party. A most enjoyable tennis party was given on Friday afternoon by Miss Saxton, in honour of Miss Elsie Gray and Miss Doris Chilman, both of Wellington. Amongst the guests were; Misses Gray, Chilman, Fitzherbert (2), Fookes (2), Skinner (2), D. Simpson, M._ Robinson,' Brewster, Kyngdon, M. Blundell, 8. Thomson. Personal. Miss Vida Hunter, who has been the her- brother, Mr. Cecil Gray, has returned to Wellington. Miss Doris Chilman, after a pleasant trip to her relatives in New Plymouth, has returned to Wellington. ", Dr. and Mrs. Trtvby King, who have been the guests of Mrs. Thomas King,' the former’s mother, have returned to Dunedin. Mrs. Holbrook, who has been the guest of Mrs. W. Newman, has returned to Palmerston. Miss Vida Hunter, wha has been the guest of Mrs. Atkinson, has returned to her home in Hamilton. aMrs. G. Proud, wW~ has' been bn a short visit to New Plymouth, has returned to her home.in. Bombay (Auckland), accompanied by her mother and sister. Mrs. and Miss Hanna.
