GISBORNE.
September 28. Military Ball. The military ball, held on Friday last, was a great success, about 250 couples participating in the night’s enjoyment. The Garrison Hal! was never more prettily decorated, the flags and bunting being most effectively arranged. Amongst those present were: —-Mesdanies Trait Blair. Lysnar. Mei’redie, Sheridan, E. Adair. J. Dods. F. Martin. Muir. \V. AlcCredie, Crawford, Poynter, Graham, King, De Costa, Biische, etc., Misses Agnew-Brown, Simpson, Cussen, Roberts, Dunlop. Gordon, Graham, .McKenzie, Beere, Bull, Burn, ete., etc. Personal. Air and Mrs G. O. K. Sainsbury returned to Gisborne on Saturday, from an extended trip to England. Air Justice Chapman left on Sunday for Wellington. Hon. Captain Tucker left for Wellington on Sunday. Air E. J. Chrisp, accompanied by his two daughters, left on Saturday- for a trip to Sydney. The Revs. .Mr Rees and Air Hobbs, who have been conducting the Anglican Mission in Gisborne, left for Napier on Wednesday. ELSA.
