Hawera, September 30. A Dance. One of the most successful dances of the season was the one given by Mrs. Moore at her residence, “Adbury,” last Tuesday evening. The drawing and dining rooms were converted into ballrooms, and a portion of the verandah was enclosed as a supper-room, the remainder being used for “sitting-out.” The supper tables were daintily- decorated with red Japonic# and spring flowers. Ska tine Rink. The last of a series of private skating parties was held ou Thureday night. Amongst some of those present were: Mesdames Nolan, Maine, Moore, Buckley, Bennett, Bell, C’owern, H. Reilly, Brett (2), Johnson, Williams, Hill, Tipler, Messrs. 11. Lysaght, Powell, Joll, Parkinson, Norton, D. Caplen, Tudehope, Johnson, Renton, Treweek, Parrington, Hearne, Nalder, Burr. Personal. Miss M. Moore returned last week from a long holiday spent in the South Island. Mr. and Mrs. G. Lloyd and family left Hawera this week for Hastings, where their future home will be. Mr., Airs., and Miss Tonks and Miss Baird have returned from a month’s holiday in New Plymouth. Miss V. Brett, who has lieen relieving in the telephone exchange, has returned to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Kimbell have returned from Wellington. JOAN.
