September 30. Ladies' Night at the Savage Club. The members of the Savage Club entertained their lady friends on last Saturday night at the Empire Hall. There was a delightful musical programme, and a delicious supper, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the large number of ladies who had availed themselves of the hospitality of the Savages. Miss Iso Smallbone, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. C. Smith, Bank of New Zealand. Mrs. H. R. Waldegrave has returned from Napier. Mr. F. C. Connell, who has been on a trip to Japan and England, returned to Palmerston on Wednesday. Mrs. L. A. Abraham paid a short visit to Wellington this week. Mrs. F. E.’ Watson and her daughter, Mrs A. N. Gibbons, have been away visiting friends in Wanganui. Miss Kathleen Bell has gone to Wellington for a month or so. Mrs. J. Bell went to Wanganui for the races last week. VIOLET.
