STRATFORD.

December 10. Tennis. Last Saturday afternoon quite a number of people were present at the tennis lawns, the weather being favourable for all outside games. Afternoon tea was provided by Miss Fussell. Some of those present were: Mesdames Carbery, Uniaeke, Robinson, Paget. Budge, Misses .Tames, Wake, Orbel, Black, Rolson, and Mackey (2). Flower Show.

There was a good attendance both afternoon and evening at the Stratford Rose and Carnation Show last Thursday. Some beautiful roses were shown, though this spell of hot weather hastened the blooming, so that many of the best were over. Amongst those present I noticed: Mesdames Richards, Young. Raikes, Wake, Munro, Marchant, Ward, Aston, Bond, Carbery, Uniacke, Mackay. Personal.

Mrs B. Meek, who has been the guest of Mrs Porritt, has returned to Auckland.

Mr G. L. Cook has just returned from a trip to England and the Continent. He has resumed his charge of the StratfordOngarue railway.

DENISE.
