Haw-era, November 12. Bridge. Mrs. Glenn entertained a few friends at bridge last Thursday evening, this .being the last of a series of parties held during the winter. Miss Caplen, who secured the greatest number of points throughout the season, was presented with a. photograph frame, the presentation being •made by Mrs. Williamson. Airs. Glenn received her guests in a pretty black silk gown. Miss Glenn wore yellow silk relieved with brown velvet. Others present were: Mi'. D., Mrs. and Miss Caplen, Mns. and Misses Williamson, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton, Mrs. Coutt-s, Mrs. Wright (Wanganui), Mr. and Mrs. O’Callaghan, Mrs. Raine. senr., Mrs. N. Tennis. . The weather was most unsatisfactory tor the opeßtig of the tennis and croquet

courts last Saturday, Mrs. Webster,! navy costume, white hat, with blue and whit© spotted scarf; Mrs. R. McLean, tussore silk -frock, white hat trimmed with pink roses and green velvet; Mrs. Sutton, grey tweed, hat trimmed with violets; Mrs. Holder, ibrown coat and skirt, white hat with black velvet; Mrs. T. Winks, brown and green striped costume, brown hat with green; Mrs. Bell, brown and white striped cambric, white hat, with scarf; Mrs. A. Hunter, cream serge; Miss Morse, dark prune coat and skirt, green hat; Miss White, -green, hat with white roses; Miss Cla.peott, navy blue costume, black hat with feathers; Miss Pratt, grey costume, saxe blue hat with quills; Miss Caplen, white muslin, burnt straw hat with blue; Miss Coutts, navy blue coat and skirt, saxe blue hat; Miss Baird, dark tweed coat and skirt, navy hat; Miss B. Nolan, brown costume, white felt hat; Miss — Williamson, brown, brown hat; Miss Glenn, blue and white striped cambric, white hat.

Personal. •Mrs. O. Hawken has returned from her trip to Auckland. . Mrs. Wright (Wanganui) is the guest of Mrs. Williamson. Mr. and Mrs. H. Foyster left for a six months’ trip to England this week.
