November 12. The Show. There was glorious weather last Friday, the “Peoples day” at the Show. So gay was the millinery, the different stands resembled brilliant conservatories, and there was not the usual tropical downpour -which causes such dismay in the feminine heart. Lady Plunket was present wearing a black toilette, grey ostrich feather boa, large cream straw with dark mauve -chiffon roses; Mrs. R. S. Military Tournament. Cloudy weather, with a high wind, was the fate of the military sports on the show ground of Alonday and Tuesday of this week. The entries were very large, including men from as far south as Dun-

edin, and as far north as Auckland. Despite the elements, the attendance was most satisfactory, and the sports a success in every sense of the word. Air and Airs Alorrah, Mr and Mrs Bagnall, Mr and Airs Bendall, Mr and Airs W. Keeling, Mr and Mrs A. Ward, Mrs D. O. Shute, Airs Davis, Mr and Mrs A. Strang, Miss Strang, the Misses Russell, Air and Airs McKnight, Mr and Airs H. R. Waldegrave, the Misses Waldegrave. Airs and Miss Warburton, Mrs W. L. Fitzherbert, Airs Eliot, and many others were present.

Personal. Airs A. D. Thompson and her sister, Aliss Wilson, have returned from Wellington. Aliss K. Bell has gone to Levin for a month. Airs and Miss F. Randolph are away in Napier. Air and Mrs Rennel have gone to Marton for a few weeks. Mrs F. S. Mcßae and family are staying in Levin. Airs Clayton (Wellington) is visiting her sister, Mrs Bendall.
