Dear Bee, April 20. The weather was perfect on Eastei Afonday for the COLLEGIATE SCHOOL SPORTS, and there was a very large at tendance of parents and friends of the boys. The old boys assembled in great force. Hi* Lordship the Bishop of Wellington was amongst those present. The City Band enlivened the proceedings by playing a number of selections during the afternoon. Delicious tea, whieh wa« much appreciated, was given by Mrs. Empson. Amongst those I noticed were: Mrs. E. Riddiford (Hutt), in an exquisite pads grey radium silk gown, with tiny pink flowers on it. the trained skirt banded with black silk insertion and lace, white chiffon vest, and full sleeves of the silk with black insertion, flue blaek Leghorn straw hat with wreath of pale pink rosea in the crown, the same flowers at the back, with rosettes of pale blue satin ribbon: Mrs. F. Sarjeant. navyblue serge three-quarter coat and skirt, coarse navy blue straw hat with crimson wings at the side; Mrs. Bond (Masterton), tailor-made coat and skirt, crimson silk tie. blaek hat relieved with crimson; Miss Krull wore a smart navy blue coat and skirt, French sailor hat with green velvet and green chiffon streamers; Miss Barnard-Brown, pale grey-blue tweed sac coat and skirt, with collar and revers of pale blue velvet, burnt straw French sailor hat with bandeau of pale blue and eream satin ribbons, wreath of cream roses in the front; Miss Christie, navy blue Melton cloth coat and skirt, cream vest, and cream lace falling to the wrist, pretty navy blue French sailor hat with chiffon veil Hailing from the back; Mrs. Homan (Palmerston North), blaek cloth skirt, handsome black doth coat braided with silk braid forming a yoke effect, blaek fancy straw; Mrs. Humphreys, long navy blue serge coat and skirt, smart pale grey felt hat*with velvet to match and •white wings at the side; Mrs. Christie, pale grey crepe de chine, with gauged skirt and pale blue applique velvet forming diamonds at intervals on the skirt, the same on bodice with lace, fancy straw hat with chiffon and velvet; Miss 'Ashcroft wore a stylish bottle green cloth costume, hat to match. On Easter Monday the Old Boys’ gave A VERY ENJOYABLE DANCE in the Assembly Rooms. The floor and music were excellent, and a delicious supper was laid in the large down-stair room, the table being very prettily decorated with pink belladonna lilies. Some very beautiful frocks were worn, but owing to the defective lighting arrangements they were not seen to the best advantage. Amongst those I noticed were, Mrs. Empson, in a handsome blaek silk gown with accordionpleated chiffon sleeves, and berthe of beautiful cream'laee: Mrs. Wallis (Wellington). maize glace silk with full skirt, and pulled sleeves to the elbow; Mrs. E. Riddiford (Marton), wore a most beautiful trained frock of crepe de chine, the skirt profusely gauged, and had a panel in the front of line lace over silk, with lace on corsage, relieved with rose pink; Miss N. Riddiford (Marton) wore a pretty pale pink silk and chiffon gown, with wide band of plain silk at the foot, fichu of chiffon; Mrs. D. Willis (Hawera). was gowned in an exquisite froek of cream silk with overskirt of fine eream laee; Miss Hewitt (Palmerston North), white silk with gauged chiffon and wide white silk sash with embroidered ends; Miss Barker (Christchurch), pale green silk, with chiffon on the skirt and corsage; Miss Williams (Hawke’s Bay), wore a white silk froek with berthe. of laee and chiffon; Miss Mason (Hawke’s Bay), sky blue silk froek, with festoons of cream laee on the skirt and fichu of lace on corsage, with spray of forget-me-nots and tiny blue bow in her coiffure; Miss Burke (Napier), rose pink merveilleux gown, with sunray pleated sleeves; Mrs. J. On Tuesday morning an exciting FOOTBALL MATCH was played on the Collegiate School grounds, Old Boys versus the Collegiate School. The former won easily.
