Th - gentlemen’s stall will be in charge of Aliss Brooks, nnd yesterday Mrs Brooks gave an afternoon party to help in providing something attractive for the stall. Each guest was asked io bring a contribution, the result being a most useful and miscellaneous collection of articles, all of which ought to prove very saleable. The cry always is at these sales that there is never anythin' suitable for the gentlemen to buy, hut they will not, be. able to say s:> this time. The amusement provided was a “Cat” afternoon. A set of questions was given to each guest, the first one being, “A cat that will be a butterfly.” The answer was, “A caterpillar.’’ It caused an immense amount of fun. Several had the same number of answers light, and the prizes had to be drawn for. Miss Mells winning first, Mrs 11. Wells second, and Aliss N. Young third. Delicious tea, cakes, and sweets were served during the afternoon.
