NAPIER.

Dear Bee, Julv 7. The NAPIER PARK RACES, which were held last week at Taradale, were well attended, and as the weather was warm and bright many people went out from town. Amongst those present were Mrs Troutbeck, Mrs Coleman. Miss Nelson. Miss Watt, Mrs Lines. Mrs Nairn, Miss Simcox. Miss Speed. Mrs Wenley. Miss Ormond, Mrs Tabuteau, Mrs Donnelly, Miss Donnelly, etc. A number of pretty dresses have been worn in town lately and some of them appeared at the Park Races. Mrs Nairn wears a dress of blaek silk, with a sealette mantle and black bonnet; Miss Nairn a coat and skirt of dark brown cloth, pink chiffon vest, and blaek velvet hat; Miss Wood, dark green coat and skirt, black velvet hat. with blue feathers; Mrs Jarvis, navy blue coat and skirt, with tartan vest; Mrs Milne-Thomson, a green coat and skirt and white blouse: Mrs Lines, becoming brown dress, plaid velvet vest, and a black velvet hat. Another Ladies’ Handicap GOLF MATCH was played last Saturday at the links beyond the Redcliffe Bridge and a greater number of people than usual were present. According to the scores given in the following is the order in which the players came:-—Miss Donnelly Ist; Mrs Donnelly 2nd; Miss Tuke 3rd; Mrs Wenley 4th; Mrs Moore sth; Mrs Jardine 6th; Miss Peacock 7th; then came Miss D. Kennedy, Miss Wood and Miss Hindmarsh. Some others present were Miss Page, Mrs Lusk, Miss Begg, Miss Smith, Miss Williams. Miss Newbould, Miss Buchanan. etc.
