Building programme uncertain until negotiations regarding additional area are completed. Progress : 228 chains fencing completed. Progress: Buildings almost completed. As property was badly twitch-infested at possession date, it will be some three or four years before it can be disposed •of on fixed charges. Development Programme: 17 acres regrassing, 145 chains fencing, three dwellings, renovations to homestead, four cow-sheds, two utility sheds, four piggeries, two bores and 300 chains piping for water-supply, 9 chains access tracks. Progress : Development completed. Four exservicemen settled August, 1949. Spring Greek, at Methven, 337 acres. Acquired: December, 1946. Objective: One sheep and cropping unit for allotment July, 1948. Development Programme : Establishment of new pasture, 170 chains fencing. Progress: Development completed. Ex-serviceman settled on permanent tenure July, 1948. Stamford, at Makikihi, 1,049 acres. Acquired : April, 1948. Objective : Two sheep and cropping units for settlement August, 1948, and 205 acres to be amalgamated with an adjoining property held by an ex-serviceman. Development Programme : About 200 chains of fencing to be erected, dwelling, barn-implement shed, renovations to existing dwelling, six dams to be excavated, boundary fencing . Progress: Development completed. Two ex-servicemen settled permanent tenure September, 1948. 205 acres sold to adjoining ex-serviceman. Stonehaven, at Ruapuna, 1,285 acres. Acquired: May, 1947. Development Programme : 360 chains fencing, access roading and track over swamp, house, wool-shed, combined shed, renovations to two houses and wool-shed. Progress : Subdivision fencing completed,' roading in hand. Two ex-servicemen settled August, 1949, and one ex-serviceman on wages with promise of unit. Strathconan, at Fairlie, 497 acres. Acquired : March, 1948. Objective : One sheep and cropping unit for settlement, August, 1949. Development Programme : 204 chains fencing, wool-shed, sheepyards and man's hut, renovations to house and barn, bridge. Progress: Sheep-yards under construction, bridge complete, new hut built, 164 chains fencing erected. Ex-serviceman settled permanent tenure August, 1949. Templeton, at Geraldine, 184 acres. Acquired : June, 1943. Objective : One dairy unit for allotment spring, 1948. Development Programme: Considerable drainage, regrassing of drained area, about 80 chains of fencing, 140 chains reconstruction existing fences, shelter-belt, cow-shed, yards and piggery, combined shed to be reconstructed, water-supply.
