I—l 7

PREFACE On behalf of the Dominion Population Committee, I have the honour to present the following report. In view of the complexity of the subject-matter of our investigations, I have thought it wise to give some indication of the structure of the report. The first section to page 93 is concerned with a historical and statistical survey of the existing conditions, in which account is taken of the evidence which was placed before us. From page 94 to page 111 we have set out the conclusions as to current trends which emerge from our survey of existing conditions and from the evidence which was placed before us. From page 112 to page 119 we set out our recommendations in detail. Appendix A (pages 120-123) is concerned with abortion. Appendix B (page 124) is concerned with contraception. From page 125 to page 130 we give a general summary of our conclusions and recommendations. J. Thorn, Chairman.
