(c) Expenditure required to protect a capital work in the .Kaitaia Drainage District. (d) £100 provided on main estimates. Additional provision required for pur chase of drainage machinery for use on deferred maintenance work. (e) Of an area of 740 acres, the Main Highways Board requires 165 acres for plantation purposes, leaving settler with an uneconomic unit and without access. Department is purchasing balance of settler's interest and reallotting to adjoining owners. (/) Payment for improvements on a forfeited lease, the area to be included later in a land-development scheme. ( g) £5,400 provided on main estimates includes £2,140 arrears of previous years and £3,300 for current year based on expenditure provisionally estimated at £9,900. Expenditure for current year finally estimated at £14,550, necessitating a corresponding increase in the subsidy. (7t) £400 provided on main estimates.
