REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT

(a) Appointment of Colonel -B. Barrington, D.5.0., 0.8.1 ii., as member of Rehabilitation Board. (b) Additional appointments necessary as a result of increased activities of the Department, particularly as a result of the cessation of hostilities. £123,723 provided on main estimates. (c) Additional expenses in fitting up adequate accommodation for present staff and for additional stafl to be employed. £7,500 provided on main estimates. (d) Additional office equipment, mainly for new staff. £10,000 provided on main estimates. (e) Purchase of additional typewriters, adding-machines, duplicators, and postal franking-maohines. £4,583 provided on main estimates. (f) Additional overtime necessary owing to inadequate staff being available to handle the inoreased volume ol work following the cessation of hostilities and to enable the initial records of discharged servicemen to be established. Staff working overtime comprise, in part, stall employed from other Departments. £12,500 provided on main estimates. (g) Additionaf printing and stationery necessary as a result of inoreased activities of the Department. £5,000 provided on main estimates.
