(а) New vote to provide for the expenditure of the National Employment Service established under tho Employment Act, 1945. (б) Previously provided under vote " National Service." (c) Amount recoverable by vote " National Service " for the administration expenses of the new Department; to be met by tho National Service Department in the first instance. (d) Amount provided on the main estimates under vote " Labour—-Subsection III: Promotion of Employment," and now transferred to tho new vote. A corresponding reduction has been made under vote " Labour." (e) Provides for the establishment expenses and cost of operating the home-aid service established under the Employment Act, 1945, for the purpose of providing assistance in homes. (/) Costs of establishing and operating the Public Service hostel at Wellington. Alterations, furniture, and equipment, £6,000; operating-expenses, £4,000.
